Dr. Villamarín injects specific amounts and types of hyaluronic acids for each area of the face and neck. In very select cases he uses other types of non-permanent dermal fillers, authorized and proven effective and safe (calcium hydroxyapatite or others). It treats dark circles, contours cheeks, lines and volumizes lips and improves the jaw line, neck folds, décolleté and hands. This helps to harmonize the face, restore volume and obtain natural-looking results. Thus, we achieve a gentle lifting effect to give the skin a temporarily softer and more youthful appearance.

For a few years now, Dr. Villamarín has considered that, although fillers are a valid option, for him there is a priority option over artificial fillers: lipofilling or autologous fat transfer to the face. Dr. Villamarín usually recommends natural lipofilling as a priority over artificial hyaluronic acid fillers or similars, since the facial lipofilling procedure is also minimally invasive, offering natural, long-lasting (several years) and more noticeable results.

It must be taken into account that, although dermal filler is an acceptable, temporary and sometimes complementary solution to other procedures, it is not free of problems (because it is an artificial substance), such as fibrosis, granulomas, secondary skin sagging, infarction of the skin or retina, or even the phenomenon of pillow face or overfilling with hyaluronic.

Furthermore, the accumulation of annual economic costs with hyaluronic acid fillers can even exceed the cost of a single facial lipofilling procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia in a single session, with natural results and lasting for many years.

The injectables are carried out in the office and are administered by Dr. Villamarín after a thorough prior study of the patient. The treatment is applied to specific areas, such as the neck, face or décolleté. Needles or cannulas are used and with little discomfort. Local and or topical anesthesia is usually used. There may be minor bruising, itching, burning or transient bluish areas after treatment.

Following the safety protocol specifically designed by Dr. Villamarín, whenever possible we use cannulas for the injection of any substance, be it anesthetic or a filler, instead of needles, to minimize the possibility of serious complications.
