Am I a good candidate for lip plumping and rejuvenation, puppet line, barcode, and perioral area without surgery in Madrid and Valencia?

Candidates for these procedures must be in good general and dental health in particular, without malocclusion pathology (abnormal bite), have mild to moderate changes in the orolabial region, and have realistic expectations. Dr. Villamarín will thoroughly review the condition of each patient through clinical history and physical examination of the face. The objectives, benefits, results and alternatives will be discussed with the patient with Dr. Villamarín and then he will design a detailed and adapted or tailor-made treatment plan for each patient.

What kind of anesthesia do we use?

Local anesthesia, which may include numbing creams. Rarely, a local anesthetic block is needed.

The procedure.

The treatment must be done by expert hands to try to avoid complications. There are several surgical and non-surgical procedures that, alone or in combination, are usually used by Dr. Villamarín to volumize and rejuvenate lips, marionette line, barcode and perioral area: dermal fillers usually with hyaluronic acid, anti-wrinkle neuromodulators, lipofilling or filling with fat, facial lifting surgery, thread lifting or vector threads, resurfacing lasers, chemical peels and regenerative therapies.

Dr. Villamarín prefers the use of a specific and strategically inserted dermal filler, as well as the frequent use of a special cannula, whenever indicated. Following the safety protocol specifically designed by Dr. Villamarín, whenever possible we use cannulas for the injection of any substance, be it anesthetic or a filler, instead of needles, to minimize the possibility of serious complications.

Orolabial area fillers can also discreetly lift the surrounding areas of the face without the need for a surgical facelift. By restoring volume to sunken areas, the center and lower part of the face takes on a smoother finish. This serves to discreetly lift surrounding slightly sagging structures.

Post Procedure Care

After the procedure, we will begin medication and post-operative recommendations and you will be discharged for the initial discharge. Cold packs will be used to reduce swelling for the first two days after the procedure. There will be follow-up as per protocol to monitor healing and make sure all your questions are answered.

Recovery

Recovery is mainly related to swelling and in rare cases with small bruises. Recovery usually takes 2 days, depending on the procedures performed, and we recommend planning 2 days to recover.

Minor swelling continues to improve steadily in the days following the procedure. Exercise can be resumed 1 week after the procedure, depending on the nature of the activity and the degree of inflammation involved.
