Candidates for a Foxy Eyes procedure should be: in good general health, an ocular and facial structure that supports the transformation to almond-shaped eyes, and have realistic expectations. We have seen good results in patients who want this surgery and who have deep-set eyes, low or asymmetrical eyebrows, or slight flaccidity or rounding at the corners of the eyes. THE PROCEDURE.

Following the safety protocol specifically designed by Dr. Villamarín, whenever possible we use cannulas for the injection of any substance, be it anesthetic or a filler, instead of needles, to minimize the possibility of serious complications.

In the case of a non-surgical and non-permanent procedure, strategically placed thread lifts are usually used, accompanied in many cases by fillers and/or anti-wrinkle neuromodulators.

In the case of a surgical and permanent procedure, minimally invasive eyebrow and periocular lifting (usually as endoscope assisted procedure) is used, and frequently fat transfer placed in the middle third of the face.

In cases of isolated evident external canthus drooping, we can use an advanced blepharoplasty in Madrid and Valencia with modified canthoplasty to elevate the lateral commissure.

Post-procedure care for foxy eyes and canthoplasty.

After the procedure, we will begin medication and post-operative recommendations and you will return to the comfort of your home or hotel room. Medications, physical measures, and cold packs will be used to reduce swelling for the first two days after the procedure. The lubricating drops will need to be used during the day and the ointment will be important at night to help keep the eyes moist and protected from dryness. Hilotherapy is an innovative thermal treatment that promotes healing in the postoperative period and that Dr. Villamarín optionally recommends after some of his procedures. There will be follow-up as per protocol to monitor healing and make sure all your questions are answered.

Recovery

Recovery is mainly related to the procedure but times are doubled if there is surgery, and in any case time is associated with swelling and in rare cases with bruising. Recovery typically takes 1-3 weeks, depending on the procedures performed, and we recommend planning 2 weeks off work or social engagements to allow plenty of time to recover.

Minor swelling continues to improve steadily for up to several weeks after the procedure. Exercise can be resumed 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure, depending on the nature of the activity and the degree of inflammation involved.

How long will the result last?

It depends on the case. In general, the first effects are usually seen in 2-3 weeks and the result in the procedure without surgery is 1 year and requires maintenance. In the technique with surgery it lasts at least 6 to 8 years.
